This rosary is named after the image of the Divine Mercy of Jesus. The Divine Mercy image was given to St. Faustina Kowalska. At the encouragement of her spiritual director, she wrote about all of them in her diary. It sparked a great devotion even before St. Faustina’s death in 1938. The Feast of Divine Mercy, or Divine Mercy Sunday, is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter.
